These walks are ONLY open to individuals who are registered for Fifty North Nature Walkers. The walks will vary in length up to 3.5 miles.

The weekly schedule will be posted online and specific details about meeting locations will be sent to all registered attendees.

What if I am unable to walk the full distance?

All walks will have blue flag placed at the .5 mile marker. You may use this as a guide to turn around to complete 1 mile.

How will Northville Parks & Recreation ensure my safety?

Safety: At least two volunteers are responsible for each group walk. One volunteer leads the walk and the other stays in the back to ensure every Nature Walker is accounted for. We encourage Nature Walkers to stay with at least one other individual in case they are separated from the group. Next, we will place temporary orange flags on the trails that have more turns. Finally, we provide all participants with essential phone numbers in case of an emergency.

Emergency Contacts: We ask that each participant carry an emergency contact card (that we will provide you) in case of an emergency.

What should I wear and bring?

  • Good walking shoes, or boots with grip soles
  • Socks suitable to the footwear
  • Wet weather gear in the event of rain
  • A warm jacket for cold weather
  • Shorts or loose comfortable pants/athletic wear, etc. (jeans are not recommended)
  • A hat and sunscreen in sunny weather
